Bottle cap challenge..

Viral Bottle Cap Challenge

Jason Statham .

The task caught the attention of the challenge-loving netizens when Max Holloway put up a video last week where he can be seen unscrewing a capped bottle with a spinning back kick.
I first heard of the bottle cap challenge two days ago because Jason Statham did it and everybody went nuts over it, but I ignored it. Soon after that, headlines said that Donnie Yen pulled it off blindfolded. I was intrigued, but I still didn’t watch any of the videos. As soon as I saw that Ryan Reynolds was in on it and took part in the challenge, I knew I had to see what this new viral internet sensation was all about. And it was definitely worth it.

Jason Statham, the action-movie star known for his martial arts prowess, posted a video this week of himself kicking a bottle. Filmed in slow motion, it shows him spinning 360 degrees before his foot connects with the bottle cap just enough to send it flying off the bottle, but not enough to tip the bottle over. By Wednesday morning, this 23-second Instagram post had more than 14.5 million views.
Mr. Statham’s post on Monday was just one entry in a viral trend known as the Bottle Cap Challenge. More than 26,000 Instagram posts had the hashtag #bottlecapchallenge as of Wednesday morning.

Other Who Did It In India .

The Bottle Cap Challenge was introduced in Bollywood by none other than Akshay Kumar, who drew inspiration from his “action guru” Jason Statham. “I couldn’t resist. Inspired by my action idol Jason Statham,” he captioned his post. On his feed, Akshay has also been re-sharing his favourite Bottle Cap Challenge videos as posted by fans.

Kunal Kemmu just took the Bottle Cap Challenge

He sort of modified the challenge in his own style

“Thank god for opposable thumbs,” he captioned

Within hours, Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4 co-star Riteish Deshmukh attempted to claim that it’s actually him in the Akshay Kumar video. Nice try Riteish but we know the truth here. “I couldn’t resist either! That’s my Bottle Cap Challenge with an Akshay Kumar mask… beware he may claim it’s him…. as a good friend I will allow him that much! My next challenge video is with a Tiger Shroff mask.” Smooth.

Tiger Shroff aces bottle cap challenge blindfolded, Kunal Kemmu and Ryan Reynolds give it a hilarious twist.

Bottle cap Challenge, made popular by Jason Statham, has taken over the internet with several people sharing their videos of successful or failed attempts. A host of film celebrities including Tiger Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, Ryan Reynolds have also taken the challenge and have nominated their friends to attempt the same.

Among the best performers is Tiger Shroff, who took the challenge a notch higher by doing it blindfolded. He shared it with the caption, “Wellll since everybodys showing off… Inspired by the great @donnieyenofficial! Yo @beyounick is this good enough? Looking good ritesh sir #goodoldspideysense # @riteishd @thedinomorea #bottlecapchallenge.”

Vidya Jamwal, ahead of Akshay and Tiger, completed with 3 bottles
BottleCapChallenge is running on social media these days. In this, a person has to open a bottle lid in front of a reverse kick, but the condition is that the bottle should not fall. Now after the stars like Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, Vidyut Jamwal has also completed this challenge. But in this they opened the lid of one but not three bottles with the same kick.

Whose idea was it?

The bottle-cap-kicking videos first circulated widely in mixed martial arts circles, but the origin of the challenge is unclear.

It may have started with Farabi Davletchin, a Kazakh Taekwondo champion, and some good-natured goading.

Last week, Mr. Davletchin posted a cap-kicking video on Instagram with the hashtag #farakickschallenge. He called out several celebrities to accept his challenge, including Jason Statham, Conor McGregor, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jackie Chan.

How did it start?

The original challenge was started by members of the mixed martial art fraternity, but it was definitely UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway and designer Errolson Hugh who made it popular.

The task, however, caught the attention of the challenge-loving netizens when Holloway put up a video last week where he can be seen unscrewing a capped bottle with a spinning back kick. He captioned the post: “Passing this on to our guy John Mayer.”
So, how exactly does this work?
It’s not the first bottle-related challenge to go viral, but this time participants have to do more than just flip the bottle.

The challenge is how to unscrew the cap with a roundhouse kick without knocking the bottle over. The trick, as you might have guessed, is to loosen the cap beforehand and have someone off-camera hold the bottle steady. Many people are posting their videos in slow motion, making the feat seem that much more impressive.

Is it safe to try at home?

Yes, as long as you’re physically able to pull off a roundhouse kick. But it might not be a bad idea to stretch first.

As far as viral challenges go, this one seems fairly harmless. No, it isn’t raising money to pay for lifesaving research. But at least this time, people aren’t jumping out of moving cars, walking around wearing blindfolds or eating Tide pods.

Just make sure you have enough room for the full spin. And if you’re new to martial arts, make sure the bottle is empty to avoid a mess.
